Coeur d’Alene, Chain Lakes

Coeur d’Alene, Chain Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"It’s truly a paddling paradise. There are more than a dozen access points along the lower Coeur d’Alene River that can be used in various combinations to produce a wide variety of trips. Along with the lower St. Joe River, the lower Coeur d’Alene was once used by steamships transporting goods and people into and out of the heavily forested valleys of north Idaho.

They made it almost the entire distance of the main stem of the Coeur d’Alene River, traveling to the Old Mission, which is just off I-90 about 25 miles east of Coeur d’Alene."
