Milford Wild Rose Hot Springs

Milford (Wild Rose) Hot Springs Professional Review and Guide

"A lava hot pool on the road to Craters of the Moon. Swimwear recommended if standing up. A desert oasis bordered by sunflowers lies barely concealed from the busy highway behind a low ridge. The pool, encased in chunky black lava rock with a gravel bottom, is 12 feet across and more than 4 feet deep at the near end where plywood forms a crude deck.

The 111-degree F springs cool to a comfortable soak as the stream winds through a marsh to the pool. The springs are on public land, but the pool itself is on a parcel owned by the Milford Sweat family. The owners don’t mind people using the pool as long as they don’t abuse the privilege. No soap or shampoo, no glass containers, and please pack out what you pack in."
