High- Five Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"High-Five is a generally primitive campground—it has no water and no toilets— though it was refurbished and upgraded a bit by the Bureau of Reclamation in the late 1990s. This is not a forested area; at High-Five you can expect a desert atmosphere with some shade from juniper trees.

In contrast to the Little Wood Reservoir campground area, this is a riverside campground (along the Little Wood, which runs parallel and to the east of the much more famous Big Wood where Ketchum and Hailey sit) rather than a lakeside campground. This campground, like the Little Wood, is a whole world away from the better- known recreational sites to the west, and it is also usually less crowded. The exceptions: during hunting season and at certain key points during fishing seasons."
