Swinging Bridge/Canyon/Cold Springs

Swinging Bridge/Canyon/Cold Springs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"These three nearly identical sites all cling to the side of the forested mountains at the immediate west of ID 55; the Payette River (usually in full whitewater mode here) is on the other side of the highway. Inside the campgrounds you get some sense of the traffic roaring by, but these sites, hilly and pleasantly shaded, are nicely designed to shield campers from the worst of the highway impact.

Hiking and fishing are easily engaged here; trails lead up the mountains for hearty walkers. Which one to try? Recommendation here is Swinging Bridge, the largest of the three, which has the prettiest setting and for which reservations can be made. (Reality check: There is not, at least presently, any swinging bridge near the like- named campground.)"
