Odessa-Louisa Complex Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The adjoining Lake Odessa State Wildlife Management Area and Louisa Division of Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge together encompass more than 10 square miles of public land along the Mississippi River Flyway, one of North America’s most important corridors for migrating birds. Because the Odessa-Louisa Complex is dedicated to providing ample habitat for animals and plants and caters mainly to boat recreation, it offers only one designated hiking trail.
However, with a little imagination you’ll be able to find suitable walking areas from which to observe migrating birds, as well as diverse mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates."
