Mountain bikers descending the Skyline Trail use this narrow trail so please be alert. This loop hike (see the eTrail) and this area of the Haleakala foothills is very scenic. Be sure to check out the “out-of-place” redwoods in Polipoli State Park. The Mamane trail is named after the shrub that lines the trail and is pronounced "ma-maa-nee."
