Mokuleia Beach Park - Oahu Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Mostly deserted peaks line up and roll along a 2-mile stretch of beach. Waves form on reefs 200 to 300 yards out, offering a host of challenging rights and lefts. Reefs dotted about the main reef fringe produce the start of an A-frame peak, which then runs into the fast walling sections, closes out, and re-forms on the inside reef short of the beach.
Like a bolt of lightning, waves rise up from the deep water and head for shore. Mokuleia picks up these lightning waves, then garnishes and grooms the swell into perfect peaks across the bay. The waves are wedged, and the green walls push hard. The bold forms, powerful drops, and steaming tunnels of Mokuleia are truly heady fun. Best Boards: Shortboards up to 7 feet, 4inches, round pintails, and big-wave guns."
