Wahiawa Botanic Garden

Wahiawa Botanic Garden Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Wahiawa Botanic Garden in central Oahu is one of the five Honolulu Botanical Gardens. The 27-acre garden dates back to the 1920s when the Hawaii Sugar Planters Association leased the land for experimental tree planting.

The garden is tucked into a lush, forested ravine at an elevation of 1,000 feet. The cool yet humid garden includes a tropical rainforest, native trees and exotic trees from Africa, Asia, Australia, China, Japan, New Guinea and the Philippines."

"This is one of the five gardens of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens, operated by Honolulu’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Each one is part of a different environmental setting, and all are worth visiting. Wahiawa is particularly congenial to tropical moisture-loving plant species."
