Moalepe Trail to Kuilau Ridge Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Moalepe Trail climbs up to the Kuilau Ridge in the foothills of the Makaleha Mountains. The first mile crosses pastureland on a red dirt road with panoramas of the lush, green jagged canyons and ridges of the Makaleha Mountains.

Moalepe Stream winds its way down the valley on the north side of the trail. The trail ends at a junction with the Kuilau Ridge Trail in the forest reserve. These two trails can be combined for a one-way, 4.6-mile shuttle hike."

The trail begins as a wide horse trail with private property on both sides. If you do this trail after a rain expect some mud. There are a couple of nice waterfalls along the trail.
