Kilauea Bay

Kilauea Bay Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Kilauea Bay is a picturesque half-moon bay between two tree-covered rocky bluffs. Kahili Quarry Beach sits in this secluded cove fringed with groves of ironwood trees. Windswept cliffs line the east side of the bay.

At the base of the cliffs are tidepools in the pile of lava rocks. Kilauea Stream and a lagoon border the western edge of the beach. Just past the mouth of the stream, the rock formations of Mokolea Point extend out to sea. The peninsula is part of the 160-acre Kilauea National Wildlife Refuge."
