Kee Beach to Haena Beach Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Kee Beach borders the eastern edge of the Na Pali Cliffs in the 230-acre Haena State Park. To the east of Kee Beach is Haena Beach Park, bordered by sheer lava cliffs and the sea. The beach park has a flat, grassy camping area, sheltered picnic tables and vegetated sand dunes.

A forested path with ironwood, heliotrope, kukui and almond trees connects Kee Beach with Haena Beach Park. The trail has panoramic views of the Na Pali Coast and gorgeous inland vistas of the chiseled mountain spires and green mossy cliffs."

Personally, this was my favorite couple of beaches. First, we stayed at my favorite campsite at Haena Beach Park. We placed are tent right on the edge of a 10-foot cliff that overlooked the beach. The beach itself was a bit unique since there were huge sand dunes dropping down into the water. What capped off the location were the ridiculously steep lava cliffs to the south of the main road. They provided an awesome backdrop. We did not walk to Kee Beach from Haena. On another day we snorkled at the popular Kee Beach (located at the trailhead for the Na Pali coast) which is at the end of the North side road. While packed on the weekends, the snorkeling was great. We stayed relatively near the shoreline, but you could swim out farther to see more sealife. My favorite spot about these beaches was Kailiu Point (Tunnel Beach?) in between both beaches. At this point, the coral reef is extremely shallow so you can walk about a half-mile into the ocean during low tide. We had a ton of fun looking down at the marine life and views of the distance Na Pali coast to the West. Have fun here!
