Lahaina Pali Trail from the Maalaea East Trailhead

Lahaina Pali Trail from the Maalaea (East) Trailhead Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Lahaina Pali Trail is an old route across the southern end of the West Maui Mountains, connecting Lahaina with Maalaea and Wailuku. The serpentine horse and foot trail was hand built in the early 1800s.

The path crosses numerous ridges and gullies, reaching the 1,600 foot summit on a windswept ridge. This hike begins from the Maalaea (East) Trailhead and can be combined with Lahaina Pali Trail from the Ukumehame (West) Trailhead for a one-way, 5-mile shuttle hike. The interpretive trail passes rock outcroppings, ancient stone walls and trail paving stones while offering access to sweeping coastal and island views."

Got 2 hours to spare? Go for a walk on this trail, starting on the west side. Nice relaxing walk on an easy trail. It practically never rains on this trail, great alternative if west, north and east sides has rain (it happens in the winter). p.s. Bring some water for the poor chickens at the west trail head.
