Old Pali Road and Pali Lookout

Old Pali Road and Pali Lookout Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This hike heads downhill along an abandoned portion of the Old Pali Highway built in 1932. The area is lush with vegetation that is slowly taking over the road. The trail begins at the Pali Lookout on the summit of the Koolau Mountains. From the clifftop perch are sweeping vistas of Windward Oahu from an elevation of 1,200 feet.

It overlooks the towns and bays of Kailua and Kaneohe. These spectacular, unobstructed views extend across the vertical ridges, tall forbidding peaks, and deep valleys of the sheer ali cliffs to the coastal plain and ocean below. The lookout is often windy but the views are staggering."

Very nice and secluded, most tourist do not venture past the road closed sign where the trail head is. Shoes recomended due to the slick nature of the wet pavement and step hills.
