Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Manoa Cliff and Kalawahine Trails loop around Tantalus Crater. The hike begins on the Manoa Cliff Trail at Round Top Drive and traverses a spectacular precipice on the west side of Manoa Valley. The Kalawahine Trail returns along the northwest flank of Tantalus on the forested cliffs above Pauoa Valley, exiting at Tantalus Drive. En route, there are great views of Manoa Valley, the Koolau Range, Pearl Harbor and Pearl City.

The signed Manoa Cliff Trail begins across the road to the north. Enter the lush forest, gaining gradual but steady elevation. The well-defined path climbs some steps an winds up the mountain. Follow the edge of the cliff past a number of vista points overlooking Manoa Valley to the east."
