Upolu - Big Island Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"When you arrive at this great surf spot, you’ll see black sand and thundering peaks far below you, while waves line up, dash against the cliff, and peel. This remote black-sand beach has a right-hand point break and collects a raw northwest, north, and northeast swell in winter—often triple overhead. It’s a big-wave rider spot most of the time.
On small days you’ll need hiking and climbing experience to get in and out. Best Boards: Shortboard and gun. This chapter also includes a brief description of Kawaihae Harbor, Spencer Park, Kauna`oa Beach, Hapuna Beach, Anaehoomalu Bay, Kiholo Bay, Makalawena, Mahaiula Bay, and Old Airport State Recreation Area."
