This easy stroll follows a stream through a garden of trees and flowers from all over the tropical world. The trail meanders gently up a series of broad terraces originally built by native Hawaiians for growing taro. Go past the gate and down the broad asphalt path lined with the ubiquitous red and white impatiens that thrive in damp places all over Hawai’i. The noisy stream that was invisible at first appears from behind a dense patch of ginger, and you follow it the rest of the way. As the ground levels out a wide lawn begins, dotted with clumps of palms and other tropical trees with identifying labels.
