Cathedral Wash is mostly bare rock and sand, with clear signs of frequent flash floods. There isn't much that could be called a trail, but there's no reason for one. The way to go is obvious, and you can just stick to the bottom of the wash except in a place or two where an abrupt drop requires finding your way around the side. Check the forecast for flash flood danger, and go early in the morning or on a cool day. The entire route is extremely photogenic. At least one spot might be considered easy class 3 scrambling.
