Pine Log Creek Trails Professional Review and Guide
"Nestled in rugged Appalachian foothills, this 275-acre Bartow County recreation area features more than 4 miles of hiking trails across floodplains, through secondgrowth forests, and over ridges offering vistas of meadows, farm fields, and the slopes of Pine Log Mountain to the south. The trails overlook a pastoral valley that was once home to the Cherokee village of Pine Log before the native people’s removal west on the Trail of Tears in the 1830s.From the parking area, the path enters the woods to the north and follows a rolling course marked by pines and young hardwoods, before crossing Pine Log Creek on an elevated footbridge at 0.2 mile. After ascending from the floodplain, you will reach a second bridge at 0.4 mile. Cross and bear right before bending left and following the slope of a low hill to the West Loop Trail at 0.5 mile."
