Cockspur Lighthouse

Cockspur Lighthouse Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Starting at the boat ramp on Lazaretto Creek, a tidal waterway, the paddle leads through a grassy estuary before opening onto the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of South Channel Savannah River, where the fort is located. Cockspur Lighthouse sits on a rocky island that is submerged twice daily by the tides.

Therefore you must time your paddle to reach the lighthouse on the falling tide or a low rising tide. This way you can land at the lighthouse and get out of your boat to climb the structure and enjoy a 360-degree view from atop its heights."
