Postell Creek on St Simons Island

Postell Creek on St. Simons Island Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Depending upon where you start, this could be a source-to-sea paddle or a sea-tosource paddle. For summary and description purposes, we will start at the sea. After pulling your boat over the dunes, the wide bar and breakers of the Atlantic Ocean and waterway connecting the Backbone River and Postell Creek open before you. This area, rich with birdlife, offers a chance to walk the beach and paddle/surf the waters around it.

Once you are done fooling around here, turn north, following the waterway into Goulds Inlet to reach Postell Creek. Here this paddle turns left and begins tracing the ever-narrowing southerly reaches of this grass-lined waterway as it twists and turns through Bloody Marsh—a large, grassy estuary bordered by land on both sides."
