Ebenezer Creek

Ebenezer Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Leave the boat ramp to paddle under the Long Bridge, joining Ebenezer Creek. The current is slack to nonexistent while passing under a power line. Immediately you can see the gigantic trunks of cypress trees, along with its brethren gum trees. The magnificent cypress trees have accompanying huge cypress knees that protrude from the dark water.

Some of cypress trunks are upwards of 10 feet in diameter. The coffee-colored water stretches about 40 feet from bank to bank but widens often in sloughs. Pine, palmetto, and regal oaks occupy the higher ground. Water grasses such as alligator weed grow on the edges of the channel in places where the water is most still. Duck moss grows in the slower margins atop the water."
