The Broad River Loop wanders to the more remote northwestern section of the park, winding through bottomland forest. The trail intersects a path that visits a beaver pond where there is an observation platform. Returning to the Broad River Loop you’ll swing northwest to touch the bank of the Broad River. After enjoying a view of this wide channel, climb to a hilltop where quiet woods make it easy to forget that a golf course and busy campground lie close by. On your way back, you’ll return to the low forest and cross a small river tributary before retracing your steps to the trailhead.
