Sope Creek

Sope Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"If it is raining mid-week and you’re an advanced Atlanta-area paddler who can take off from work at a realistic time, consider looking at Sope Creek. It takes a lot of water to get the creek up; too much and it jumps out of the banks and develops into a continuous Class V run, with predatory river-wide holes.

But when the conditions are right, it’s one of the best III–IV whitewater creek runs in Atlanta. You’ll want to keep your mouth shut on this one and take a good shower when you get home; the water’s filthy."
