Sweetwater Creek State Park Trails

Sweetwater Creek State Park Trails Professional Review and Guide

"Sweetwater Creek State Park has a wilderness feel, offering many species of wildflowers and wildlife, a beautiful forest, and cascading Sweetwater Creek—all only minutes from downtown Atlanta. Sweetwater Creek is a fast-flowing stream that winds its way through a granite-boulder streambed in a well-protected wooded valley.

The 2,549-acre park features picnicking, as well as boating and fishing on 215-acre George H. Sparks Reservoir. There also are 9 miles of hiking trails within the park. The Red/History Trail offers a walk through old New Manchester down to Sweetwater Falls. The Blue Trail provides an alternate access to the falls on the overlooking ridges. The Yellow Trail crosses the creek onto the opposite ridges, and the White Trail runs through woodlands and fields from the interpretive center to the waterfall."
