Unicoi State Park Bike Trail Professional Review and Guide
"If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to race on a NORBA-level race course, here’s your chance. The trail was built for racing, and it shows. This is a ride that keeps your attention throughout because of the constant elevation changes and difficult sections of trail. You can get a good idea of what professional racers face by riding this trail, and you’ll gain a great deal of respect for their talents after a lap or two.
Imagine the water crossings without the bridges, and you’ll have even more respect. The trail is not all business, though. There are several scenic sections along the creeks, and some view possibilities at the high points. The entire trail is a pleasure to ride, because of its apparent isolation while being so close to civilization. For even greater scenery, come here in the fall, when the colors are at their peak, but the ride is well worth the trip any time of year. There is a $2 fee to ride the trail, payable at the lodge office. Tread: 7.4 miles on wide singletrack on old roadbed."
