This was a wonderful hike in late May. The trail was well marked, and there was a good balance between the smooth downhill (along the Appalachian) and gradual a climb (along the Benton MacKaye). There was an abundance of water, and all the backpackers we passed was really friendly. The bugs weren't biting, and the forest setting was absolutely beautiful! I highly recommend this trail as a perfect weekend day hike, or possibly an afternoon jaunt if you live close by.
