Lady Slipper Lake Russell

Lady Slipper Lake Russell Professional Review and Guide

"Lady Slipper's important intersections are well marked, with blue blazes appearing at frequent intervals. Moderately difficult; the steep sections are short, and the initial mile-long climb is a good workout. A final climb up to an overlook, Lady Slipper uses part of a lightly graveled road (normally closed) to finish the loop before rejoining the singletrack approach trail.

Only an extraordinary biker can ride the entire length without having to dismount at least once -- that is, until bridges go up at all steam crossings. This ride is located inside a USDA Fee Area and is open to horseback riding. Scenery includes Lake Russell and the northeastern section of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Lady Slipper’s important intersections are well marked, with blue blazes appearing at frequent intervals. Other markings can also be found here. Woody pointed out fresh bear sign in the middle of the trail, which answered an often asked question."
