Smithgall Woods State Park Ash Creek Trail and Wetland Loop

Cleveland, Georgia

Smithgall Woods State Park: Ash Creek Trail and Wetland Loop Professional Review and Guide

"On a warm day, this is the perfect hike for cooling off. The Ash Creek Trail includes two knee-deep stream crossings and a climb to a ridgetop with a view of Yonah Mountain. After completing the Ash Creek Trail, you can cross Tsalaki Trail to take the short Wetland Loop.

This passes a beaver pond and serves as a good spot for birding and identifying frogs. Before you set out on your walk, pick up “The Frogs of Smithgall Woods” brochure at the visitors center."
