Upper Chattahoochee Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Upper Chattahoochee is a newer campground in the Chattahoochee National Forest. And it seems the Forest Service used all the positive things it has learned in the past to construct this campground. It is located in a long, level cove where the headwater of the Chattahoochee River merges beneath the high ridges that form the northern border of the Chattahoochee River Basin. Georgia’s most famous river flows beyond this campground southward through the state and on to the Gulf of Mexico. Here, deep in the mountains, the Forest Service has integrated the campground into the natural stage of wood, water, and wildlife openings, edged on three sides by the Mark Trail Wilderness."
