Red Top Mountain State Park: Homestead and Sweetgum Trails Professional Review and Guide
"Nestled along the wooded slopes of a 1,950-acre peninsula surrounded by Allatoona Lake, Red Top Mountain is among Georgia’s most popular state parks. Following the damming of the Etowah River by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1950s, creating Allatoona Lake, the state set aside land for Red Top Mountain State Park. The Homestead and Sweetgum Trails combine to form a rough “figure-eight” network of paths winding through heavily wooded upland forests, creek bottomlands, and along the banks of the lake."

Did the Sweetgum Trail with my dog. It was easy and flat, but you walk by a road for a portion of it.
