Some of Georgia’s hardiest and smallest plants grow on these granite mountain outcrops. The best place to begin your adventure is at the interpretive center. Here you will find a display that depicts and describes the plant and animal communities found on Panola Mountain’s granite outcrops. The themes of the other displays are rocks of the area, backyard wildlife, and forest animals. The interpretive center also houses a butterfly collection, an active beehive, and a live bat exhibit.
