Sweetwater Creek State Park: East Side Trail Professional Review and Guide
"Compared to Sweetwater Creek State Park’s other trails, the East Side Trail offers a bit more solitude and the opportunity to work your lungs. After taking an old military bridge across Sweetwater Creek, the trail takes a steep turn and rises to an elevation of more than 1000 feet. The hardwood forest is free of dense underbrush giving you clear views across the leafy ground. From the high, drier flank of the hill, the trail drops into a drainage where the moist soil supports lush ferns. The path levels out as it skirts the creek bank and completes the loop."
