Pickett’s Mill Battlefield: Red, Blue, and Brand House Trails Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This long loop hike begins at the ravine overlook and passes the point where federal troops charged out of the ravine and met a hail of Confederate fire on May 27, 1864. You then follow the Red Trail, along a stream, past the site of Pickett’s Mill and then the old cornfield.
You ascend a hill where trenches dug by federal troops are still visible. After a brief walk on the White Trail, the orange-blazed Brand House Trail takes you to the more remote northern section of the battlefield site where a field hospital was located. A raised piece of ground indicates the site of the Brand family house."
