Ocmulgee National Monument Mound Walk

Ocmulgee National Monument: Mound Walk Professional Review and Guide

"This hike focuses on Ocmulgee Monument’s main attraction, the earth mounds, which were built for a variety of reasons. The first stop along this hike, the Earthlodge, is a reconstructed building that served as a meeting place for village leaders.

You can then visit the ceremonial mounds dotting the monument, including the Great Temple Mound, which you can climb via stairs. On the western side of the site you will find the Funeral Mound, which was a burial site."
