Fort Yargo State Park Bird Berry Trail and Lake Loop Trail

Fort Yargo State Park: Bird Berry Trail and Lake Loop Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Fort Yargo’s paved Bird Berry Trail is easy, convenient, and a prime spot to observe birds and other wildlife that inhabit the wetland area on the north shore of the Marbury Creek Reservoir. After enjoying this trail, you can take a short walk on the park road to join another path that passes the old fort and climbs into the pine and hardwood forest west of the lake.

You can then visit the park’s southwestern corner and walk along the shoreline to maybe glimpse an osprey or great blue heron. From there, an easy walk through the pines along the water returns you north to retrace your steps to the parking lot."
