"Established by the University of Georgia in 1968, the 313- acre gardens complex includes a glass-enclosed conservatory and visitor center, the stone and timber Day Chapel, the Callaway classroom building, and the Garden Club of Georgia headquarters.

In addition to paths through gardens of native and exotic plants and herbs, the garden features more than 5 miles of trails in surrounding forests, wetlands, and floodplains of the Middle Oconee River."
