Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail explores the watershed of the Amicalola Creek in the area of Amicalola Falls. In spring the meadow is full of color.

Although the McDaniel family owned the farm from 1859 until it was given to the county after Archie McDaniel’s death in 1999, the farm is set up as a 1930s farm might have been.

Guided tours are given every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and cost $3. If you can’t make the tour, pick up a brochure from the metal pail hanging just inside the barn on the left wall. We strongly recommend the walking tour because it gives visitors access to the farmhouse, which is the most interesting building on the farm."

A basic paved walking path not a lot of scenery, but a nice afternoon walk.

    Melissa Watson
"Majestic! This impressive waterfall has the claim to fame of being Georgias tallest, falling 729 feet as it makes its way down the mountainside. Amicalola Falls is so tall that it is difficult to see it all at once. Each section you can view, however, is well worth the visit. The falls can be reached by climbing the many man-made steps or via an alternative route, which is accessible for those in wheelchairs or with strollers." Read more
