Flint River below Albany

Flint River below Albany Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The dark yet clear waters of the Flint River flow strongly below Albany, down a scenically wooded corridor with surprisingly steep bluffs. Small, rocky shoals and clear-blue springs, including the famed Radium Springs, enhance the paddle.

Watch for wading birds on more remote sections of the river. Much of the banks, where shaded, are covered in ferns and lush groundcover. Cypress trees regally reach for the sky. Though the trip is 9.0 miles in length, it can easily be done in a day, as the waters are fairly fast moving. NOTE: The wide nature of the river makes it a fairway for winds."
