Suwannee River Ramble Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Although you do not get many actual peeks at the Suwannee on this ride, it is a sweet little ramble through the countryside on the north and south sides of the fabled river. Not much traffic. Smooth, wide two-lane roads and an interesting start/end in White Springs and the Stephen Foster Folk Cultural Center State Park. One way to enjoy it is to ride it in both directions. You will be amazed at how different the countryside looks from an opposite bearing.
If you enjoy long stretches of good road with little traffic and interesting places to visit, any bike route originating in White Springs will provide an excellent ride. At the time of this writing, this little jewel of an old and threadbare town on the north bank of the Suwannee River has not been “discovered” . . . yet. This is Florida, though, so anonymity of place won’t last, and that fact alone is one superior reason to find White Springs on the map, fill the auto’s tank with gas and the stomach with an energy drink, and go find it."
