Three trails combine to form a great hike and a way to figuratively immerse yourself in the Hillsborough River ecosystem, located at Morris Bridge in the heart of Wilderness Park. The first travels along the river in cypress woodland. The second loops around a boardwalk, and the third wanders amid swamp woods. At Morris Bridge Park hikers can get a close-up view of the Hillsborough River basin. All three trails here are located in a riverine swamp forest that oozes beauty as it oozes water. First, take the Bald Cypress Trail. Huge cypresses dominate, along with oaks, palms, and maples. Watch your feet while walking among hundreds of knobby cypress knees rising from the forest floor.
