Nice camping area. Several good hiking trails, wooden bridges. Trails listed for biking (Wetlands, Fort King, Dead River) all seemed to be neglected as they were rough with potholes and had uncut knee high grass.

This is a very nice park and trail just outside the busy metro area of Tampa Bay. Can get very crowded during the weekends, especially in the summer. Visit on a weekday in the fall or spring (when temps are lower) and have the trail to yourself. Most visitors remain along the river trail and not many venture onto the full loop. Great getaway from the city.

nearly no bugs - lots of wildlife to spot - great camping facilities - wide clear trails, watch for lots of spiders on the river side of the Florida trail if you are first on in the morning.
