Anclote Key Preserve State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Florida has made an effort to draw everyone who is an outdoor enthusiast into its state park system and Anclote Key Preserve, miles out in the Gulf, is a good example. You can get there only by private boat; there is no ferry or shuttle. The preserve has a pristine 4-mile-long beach for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, or snorkeling.

The water is normally mild, the surf is gentle, and the sand is snow white. There are restrooms, but no other facilities. There is no water and no electricity: bring your own. A satellite phone would be nice, too. An old lighthouse on the south end and 50 species of bird life make this an island worth visiting."
