Ocala National Forest Classic Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This classic ride offers an excellent day in the woods with quick trips through several hamlets, the largest of which is Salt Springs, and dozens of ponds and lakes. The forest scenery is not dramatic, often having been cut over or carefully burned, but the traffic is not too bad, either—except for construction trucks traveling over the speed limit on State Road 19. Several long uphill stretches will test your endurance.
Traffic and hazards: This ride takes place entirely on two-lane roads divided half and half between those with no shoulder and those with a paved yard of asphalt. Although this is a great ride, most bikers in the national forest are busy with mud and dirt off-road, so thin-tire riders are rare. SR 40 can be very busy as can SR 19 to a lesser extent."
