Snug Harbor and Weedon Island North Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Snug Harbor or Northern Weedon Island trail explores north Weedon Island as far as the inner, natural Snug Harbor. Just east of the entrance between Gandy cause-way and Weedon Island, warm water from the Weedon Island power plant attracts
manatees in winter.
This offers a great opportunity to see them. In addition to a wide variety of bird and fish life, you may also see dolphins, as they routinely pass this area to access the good fishing waters toward Snug Harbor. The trip consists of shallow
bays, mangrove islands, and shaded pools. It is a sheltered paddling area with ample opportunity to explore."
