UNF Nature Trails Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This loop hike takes place on the University of North Florida campus at the Sawmill Slough Preserve. The hike uses several trails in a complex that travels through multiple habitats, including maple and cypress swamps, passing by an ancient cypress tree, and around Lake Oneida.

The trailhead has a fine picnic area, restrooms, and designated parking. Make sure and buy a parking pass if you are here on a weekday! The university operates nature programs for students and school groups from the area. Enrolled UNF students have the advantage of being able to check out canoes and kayaks to paddle Lake Oneida."

Good trails. Easy markers to see where you’re going. Cool paddle boards, kayaks and zip lining for students use!
