Estuary Trail

Estuary Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Picturesque is an understatement for the Estuary Trail as it winds its way between Long Pond, Grand Lagoon, and its namesake Big Lagoon. Blue herons wade in the shallows, fishermen line the banks and piers, kayakers ply the waters as they head to the Gulf, and the sunsets are simply gorgeous. Oh, and there is the famous four-story Big Lagoon observation tower with panoramic views of the park and the lagoon.

On the Florida panhandle just south of Pensacola, you will find Big Lagoon State Park. The aptly named park is located on the banks of Big Lagoon, a body of water that separates the mainland from Perdido Key and the Gulf of Mexico. This 678-acre park first opened in 1978 and has been a popular panhandle attraction ever since."
