Yellow Trail: Oscar Scherer State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Yellow Trail path passes through mesic pine flatwoods, prairie hammocks, and scrubby flatwoods. It starts in an area that was once prime scrub jay habitat, but the native scrubby flatwoods cleared in the 1940s and replaced with slash pine are being restored.
The slash pines are being removed selectively, and prescribed burning is also important in bringing back the scrubby flatwoods, with small oaks, scattered pines, and partial ground cover."
