Bulow Creek

Bulow Creek Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Bulow Creek is a trip back into Florida history as well as an opportunity to explore a coastal marsh. The put-in is near Ormond Beach at the Bulow Plantation State Historic Site. This site is a relic of the early 1800s, when a number of sugar plantations dotted the Florida Atlantic coast. These plantations were burned and abandoned during the Second Seminole War.

Paddlers should take the opportunity to visit the old sugar mill and other ruins. There are also nature trails that are worth exploring. Bulow Plantation and the adjacent Bulow Creek State Park form a substantial portion of the west bank of upper Bulow Creek. The park is noteworthy for its rich stand of hardwood hammock."
