Lake Rogers County Park, near Citrus Park, is the setting for a loop hike that circles an alluring lake. The natural-surface trail is foot friendly and makes for a great daily exercise venue if you live in this neck of the woods. Even if you don’t, the well-kept preserve is worth a trip. Combine it with a picnic and/or a paddle. This hike makes a wooded and scenic loop around Lake Rogers. The park is enjoyed as a day-use area by locals who like to get their exercise by making a circuit around the Crawley Roadlake. The park also has another lake, Lake Raleigh. Several attractive picnic areas are scattered throughout the locale. Also, a canoe launch allows paddlers to explore the shoreline and fish. The 272-acre tract was originally purchased by the city of St. Petersburg as a well field. However, the area is operated as a park by Hillsborough County.
