This easy day hike starts at the Little Talbot Island State Park campground, wandering along a tidal creek before entering rolling maritime hammock woodland. Since the hike is relatively short, consider adding many of the other available activities at the park to your walk, including, camping, biking, or beachcombing. Little Talbot Island State Park is part of the greater Talbot Islands State Parks. In addition to Little Talbot, there is Big Talbot Island, Long Island, Fort George Island, and Amelia Island State Recreation Area. Little Talbot has a forty-unit campground that serves as a well-placed base camp for exploring the beaches, marshlands, and the history of the tidal region, and is the starting point for this hike.
